A British motorcycle manufacturer called Douglas started to produce Vespa under the allowance of original manufacturer of Vespa in 1951. Although the quantity of Vespa which was produced by Douglas only possessed a small part in the total quantity of Vespa, it improved the high reputation of Vespa in the whole world.

Moreover, this kind of scooter called Vespa has already been sold out for about 400 million excluding the authored production in other countries in 1969.

In addition, during the period of the Great Depression in 1980 to 1990, there were different owners occurring in the Piaggio company, but the famous brand of the scooter—Vespa was reserved. Also, the brand—-Vespa lasts for a very long time till now.
