The History Of Vespa Scooter

As we all know, Vespa is a kind of famous Italian brand of scooter. It was born from the spirit of one of the Piaggio family members—-Enrico Piaggio. So let’s learn about the history of Vespa.

Although Vespa is not the earliest scooter in the world, the high reputation of it in the late stage is what these manufacturers who produced it have not noticed. As a matter of fact, during the world war II, most of industries in Italy at that time were almost related to the armament manufacturing of country. Besides, many factories were destroyed after the allied armies attacked them. However, the piaggio families recovered the economy recession by means of producing the airplants.

Furthermore, the scooter—-Vespa started to become the civil scooter and to be sold in 1946 in Italy, and the sales quantity of Vespa has already been sold for 6 million every year sine 1950. In the same year, the design and the brand of Vespa have already been allowed to be produced and sold in other countries. A British motorcycle manufacturer called Douglas started to produce Vespa under the allowance of original manufacturer of Vespa in 1951. Although the quantity of Vespa which was produced by Douglas only possessed a small part in the total quantity of Vespa, it improved the high reputation of Vespa in the whole world.

Moreover, this kind of scooter called Vespa has already been sold out for about 400 million excluding the authored production in other countries in 1969.

In addition, during the period of the Great Depression in 1980 to 1990, there were different owners occurring in the Piaggio company, but the famous brand of the scooter—Vespa was reserved. Also, the brand—-Vespa lasts for a very long time till now.
