Firstly, before using the new diamond tools, it should be exited for the last time using, even diamond itself is that hardest material in the world, however, some poor quality diamond tools are easy to be damaged when just contacting with the grinding wheel.

Secondly, when installing the diamond tools’ tool bit, you have to pay attention on the angle, about between 10 degree and 15 degree, and then it should follow the direction of rotation of grinding wheel.

Thirdly, after the diamond tools are fixed tightly, the head of such tools should not be hung for a long time. Meanwhile, under some possible circumstance, it is better to cooling liquid, which is useful to cool down cutting temperature. What’s more, during the whole using process, cooling liquid should be used all the time between tools and grinding wheel.

Fourthly, at the beginning, pay attention on the highest points of grinding wheel, as usual, it is at the middle location of it. Sometimes it should be used slightly with thick size, about 0.001 inch and 0.002 inch, of course, with precise size, it would be between 0.0005 inch and 0.001 inch.

Fifth, reading diamond tools using instruction book, there would be tips about right horizontal movement speed. Generally speaking, in the allowable range, the lower horizontal movement speed, the lower roughness on grinding wheel surface.

Sixth, if you can, you should adjust the grinding wheel in specified time, which is useful to prevent the grinding wheel becoming blunt, otherwise there would be huge grinding force. At the same time, in the specified interval, some tools should be rotated about 1/8 turning so as to keep the sharpness of tool all the time.

Seventh, when the tool bit becomes blunt, or if you notice that it becomes flat after a while using, it should be adjusted or even changed in time. According to the diameter size of grinding wheel, choose the right diamond with suitable karat content, generally speaking, the larger grinding wheel diameter, the larger value of diamond karat content.
