As is known to all, little girls love the dolls while the little children love toys such as car toys, gun toys and so on. Many people would wonder that it is the instinctive reaction by nature or the choice impacted by environment? According to the U.S researchers, it was found that children’s preferences on different toys may be determined by the gender gene rather than the social environment.

The researchers from the Texas agricultural and mechanical university have carried out the simple test on the babies between three months and eight months. Because babies among this stage don’t have the gender awareness and can not distinguish the gender between themselves and others people.

17 boys and 13 girls were placed at the car seat, then the little display box in which there is a pink dolls and the blue car toy in front of them. On the display box, there is a curtain. Ten seconds later, the location of dolls and car toys are changed and then still display for ten seconds.

During the process, researcher would find which items were paid lots of time by children and then deduce which kinds of kids toys were more attractive by different genders kids.

The test results showed that the girl paid more attention on the doll while the boys paid more attention on the blue car toys.
